AVM extends its commitment to cable

After the successful launch of the FRITZ!Box 6360 Cable a few months ago, AVM is now extending its commitment in the field of cable end devices. At CeBIT 2011 AVM is showcasing its next cable device: the FRITZ!Box 6320 Cable.

FRITZ!Box makes cable connections more attractive

As an attractive starter product, the FRITZ!Box 6320 boasts a EuroDocsis 3 modem, a telephone system for DECT telephones, a connection point for an analog end device, WLAN N (2.4 GHz, 150 Mbit/s), and a Gigabit Ethernet connection. Like the FRITZ!Box 6360 Cable, the FRITZ!Box 6320 Cable fully supports the forthcoming IPv6 Internet protocol.

The FRITZ!Box 6320 is the new model in AVM’s cable portfolio.

Greater convenience at the cable connection with DECT

The integrated DECT base station of the FRITZ!Box allows up to 6 mobile components to be connected and up to 3 calls simultaneously via DECT – even in HD quality. FRITZ!Fon mobile components can access the shared telephone book of the FRITZ!Box and offer added value through Internet services such as web radio, podcasts, or reading e-mails when the PC is switched off.

Fully equipped FRITZ!Box 6360 Cable conquers the market

The 6360 is fitted with all the convenient functions offered by AVM’s top models: High-speed WLAN N, four Gigabit Ethernet connections, and USB 2.0 guarantee the best possible network connections. Connection options for cordless telephones and the integrated telephone system complete the comprehensive list of features.

FRITZ!App, multimedia, and NAS for a convenient home network

The use of smart phones at home is on the rise. This enables users to surf the Internet and retrieve e-mails noticeably faster via the cable broadband connection. The WLAN cable connection also lends itself to uploading photos and videos to Facebook or YouTube. And with the FRITZ!App, calls can also be made via the cable connection using iPhones and Android smart phones, which connect to the FRITZ!Box via WLAN. Other FRITZ!Box functions such as the telephone book, answering machine, and call list are also available with the FRITZ!App for smart phones. With integrated NAS functionality (Network Attached Storage), the FRITZ!Box 6360 Cable, combined with an external USB storage device, makes photos, music, videos, and other files available right across the network.

A multitude of convenient functions for digital telephony

Whether via ISDN, DECT, WLAN or SIP – the FRITZ!Box 6360 Cable offers a multitude of convenient functions for digital telephony. In addition to a VoIP telephone system (SIP, RFC 3261), features include connectivity for two analog telephones and an ISDN telephone (or an ISDN telephone system). Up to six handsets can be connected to the integral DECT base station. Recognized convenient ISDN features, such as brokering, call waiting, call divert or three-way conference can easily be used in the same way as with the fixed-line network. The FRITZ!Box 6360 further supports HD telephony via the G.722 standard and the DECT Eco mode. The integral broadband management (Quality of Service) of the FRITZ!Box also enables simultaneous applications such as Internet telephony and HD video streaming.

Fast connections with Wireless-N and Gigabit Ethernet

The new FRITZ!Box 6360 has four Gigabit Ethernet connections and also enables fast Wireless-N connections at speeds of up to 300 Mbit/s – in either the 2.4 GHz band or the 5 GHz band, as preferred. The device satisfies the most stringent security requirements, thanks to the WPA/WPA2 encryption which is activated ex works. FRITZ!Box supports WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) for connecting WLAN devices with the FRITZ!Box securely and with the greatest of ease at the touch of a button. The energy saving functions of the current AVM top models have also been integrated: the WLAN power can easily be switched on and off via the sleep mode or manually by means of a switch. The Green AP mode also optimizes power output during use.

NAS functionality: use photos, music and more throughout the home network

The FRITZ!Box 6360 Cable makes photos, music, videos and other files available throughout the network thanks to the integral NAS (Network Attached Storage) functionality. Devices connected via USB 2.0, such as storage media or printers, are also available in the home network via printer and media servers – even when the computer is switched off. Online storage can also be seamlessly integrated, thanks to support for WebDAV. Both the network storage and additional functions can be operated with ease and convenience via the FRITZ!Box user interface (simply enter “fritz.box” in the browser) and they are also simple to manage.

Certified for the new EuroDOCSIS 3 standard

The new FRITZ!Box 6360 Cable has been certified by EuroCableLabs – the research institution of the leading European cable network operators – for the new EuroDOCSIS 3 standard, and it is also compatible with the IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS). The integral cable modem of the FRITZ!Box 6360 also supports provisioning and management in accordance with the EuroDOCSIS 3.0 specification. On the router side, the provisioning process is based on the CPE WAN Management Protocol (TR-069); consequently, the FRITZ!Box 6360 enables a high level of user-friendliness when setting up Internet telephony.
